About Us
Port Klang Thirukkural Association established on 17th October 1960. It is one of the community organizations. The oldest Indian in Malaysia and have a historic moment. This association is also the only Indian association which has a People’s Hall at Port Klang area.
The establishment of the Thirukkural Association was the instigation of the aspirations of a group of youth
who are active in various social activities around the klang area. They named
this association as the Thirukkural Association in conjunction with the general book of the Tamil community ie
“Thirukkural”. (Thirukkural is a philosophical book that is respected as a book
world Tamil community).
After this organization was registered, various social programs were organized to integrate
local youth. The pure purpose and sincerity of the leader has attracted the interest of many youths
local and they start to get involved in community activities.
In 1963 the number of members increased to 125 people. The program is not limited at
Port Klang area only, but organized throughout the Klang District such as Ladang
Golden Hope, Arun Farm, Bukit Raja Farm and Highland Farm.
At that time, there was no public hall for the public to use in the Klang area. Immediately
in 1970 we took the initiative to build a hall for activities
social and public. After 3 years, the construction process of Thiruvalluvar Hall was completed on
in 1974.
As of 2023, a total of 173 people have registered as members of this association and there are
